As part of the implementation of the project 101127858 — BIMTech "EU Experience in Digital Transformation through BIM: Lessons for Ukraine", under the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module program, the first lecture of the course "BIM for Reconstruction: EU Experience" was held on March 21, 2024. The lecture took place in a blended format.
The main goal of this project is to improve the process of teaching and studying the European Union's experience in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies throughout all stages of construction.

This project is also an important step in the digital transformation of the construction industry in Ukraine, specifically for the reconstruction and restoration of damaged or destroyed buildings.
The lecture was attended by fifth- and sixth-year students from the Department of Structural Mechanics, Faculty of Machinery, Structures, and Technologies (some of whom participated online via Google Meet). The project coordinator, Head of the Department of Structural Mechanics, Dr. Volodymyr Iasnii, opened the session with an introductory speech, presenting the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module program, as well as the content and objectives of this course.

The lecturer, Ph.D., Associate Professor Andrii Sorochak, conducted the first lecture, "What is BIM?", of the first module "Introduction to BIM Theory and EU Standards". The lecture covered the following topics: BIM principles; the history of the transition from CAD to BIM; BIM advantages; key terminology; BIM dimensions; BIM development levels and their specifications.

We would like to thank the Erasmus+ program for the opportunity to share EU experience with TNTU students and for supporting the overall implementation of the project!
